Article - Changing Your Mindset by Randy Gage

Ξ June 7th, 2008 | → 0 Comments | ∇ Articles and Faves |

Why are so many people sick, depressed and broke?

Because on a subconscious level-they don’t believe they are worthy. Their church, temple or synagogue programmed them that they were a worm by the time they were eight years old. Their parents got divorced when they were ten and they thought it was their fault. Perhaps their father worked ten hours a day in a tough manual labor job, and now they feel guilty for earning more money than he did. And you can safely assume that they were completely brain-washed by the media by the time they were ten years old.

If they grew up watching Mayberry, Mash, Gilligan’s Island, The Beverly Hillbillies and dozens of other shows, they have subconscious programming that:

* Rich people are pompous, conniving and dishonest;
* Poor people are the salt of the earth; and,
* It is somehow noble, decent, and spiritual to be poor.

Now, you may have attended a couple of self-development seminars, read some positive books and set goals for positive outcomes. But do you know how many thousands of hours of counter-programming you are still receiving?

Are you really screening the books you read?

Did you eliminate the news outlets?

Have you stopped watching 90% of the shows on television?

Did you eliminate all radio talk shows from your diet?

Do you excuse yourself from the conversation when it turns to gossip, lack and negativity?

Have you replaced former friends and acquaintances in your life that were negative?

Do you schedule and restrict the time you spend with negative family members?

If you didn’t answer yes to ALL of these questions, I worry for the tremendous amount of lack programming you are being exposed to on a daily basis. If you did answer yes to all of the above, what that means is that you are likely getting “only” about fifty exposures to negative programming a day!

So in either case-what are you doing to counteract this programming?

It may be much more important than you know. It is that constant daily programming you receive that determines your mindset. And it is your mindset that determines your eventual level of achievement in everything you do.

Example: Suppose you get offered a chance to participate in a business opportunity. You could approach this a number of different ways, each one would be dependant on your mindset.

You could jump in blindly, without any research, just because you are enamored with the idea of getting rich. You could enter a very bad situation and lose a lot of money.

Or scenario two, you figure that any deal you find out about is already too late. You figure the “insiders” get all the sweetheart deals and it’s probably much too good to be true. So you passed up the chance to buy Microsoft when it was $10 a share.

Another scenario occurs when you get offered a situation, you have confidence in yourself, you study it thoroughly and you make a sound decision.

There are other possible scenarios, but you get the idea. How you will react to it is determined almost entirely by your mindset. What you expect in life.

Some people are predisposed to think they will be wildly successful, some figure they will get by, and others expect the worst to happen. Your expectations will color how you view each situation you encounter, hundreds of times a day. That in turn will color how you act in each situation. And each one of those small, seemingly insignificant decisions determines your future.

It’s important to remember that your mindset and the expectations will be determined by the thoughts you give precedence to. James Allen equated your mind to a garden.

If you leave the garden uncultivated, whatever the wind blows in - plants, weeds or whatever is what grows there. If you consciously plant it, and cultivate it - you keep it weeded and grow the flowers, fruits, or vegetables you desire.

If you don’t screen out the kind of stuff I discussed earlier, those are the weeds that blow in and choke out your prosperous, healthy and happiness thoughts.

Article - Rich or Poor …

Ξ June 3rd, 2008 | → 0 Comments | ∇ Articles and Faves |

Here’s an EXCELLENT article by my friend, Gary Simpson. I hope you
enjoy it!

In Peace:

Coach B

“Rich or Poor - Get the Knowledge”
by Gary Simpson

Most people work hard all their lives only to “retire” poor
then try to live off meagre savings or a small (rapidly
disappearing) Government pension. They are forced to live
out their twilight years struggling with constant money
problems.

Many of them have to buy only the cheapest food and are
unable to enjoy the little pleasures of life like going to
an occasional movie, eating out or taking short trips. They
have to watch every cent they spend.

If only these people had saved, on a consistent basis, just
a small percentage of their earnings and set it aside.

George Classon, in his marvelous book called “The Richest
Man in Babylon” suggests that putting aside just “ten
percent of what we earn and investing it”, is enough to make
for a comfortable retirement.

Let me ask you a question. Are you saving a percentage of
what you earn or are you like most people who spend
everything? Alarmingly, there are new statistics which
suggest that most people, in fact, are spending more than
what they earn. The latest studies are saying people are
currently spending 104% of their income.

It sounds impossible, doesn’t it? It’s not! The advent of
credit cards has led to spiraling debt. Multiple credit
cards and “store” cards allow people to buy now and pay
later. I call this “payment by the twelfth”.

I refer, of course to that famous Johnny Mathis song “The
Twelfth of Never”. Many use the “roundabout” system of using
one credit card to pay for another and so on. This is a
recipe for disaster.

I recommend you purchase “The Richest Man in Babylon” and
study it. The information it contains can make a positive
impact on the way you handle your finances. At least if you
read the book and understand it you can make a conscious
choice to ignore its wisdom. You are then in a position to
decide whether you want to be rich or poor because you will
have the knowledge.

There is no better time than right NOW to start becoming
responsible with money and investing for your future. What
you keep putting off today will eventually return to haunt
you when you have a diminished capacity to do anything about
it.

In other words, the longer you leave it the more difficult
it will become. You cannot work forever. Eventually, the day
will come when you will either want to retire or you will be
forced to retire.

Rich or poor - get the knowledge!

Giving and Prosperity
© Bryan Hall

Take a look around you.

Take a LOOK at your LIFE!

What do you notice?

Try this on for size …

As a world community of ONE people,
we are continuously evolving, as
is the Earth we live on. We are
constantly changing, growing,
and sharing in the energies
that bond us in being-ness.

Now, this might seem elementary to
some, but to others, this says
something MUCH deeper. See …
the way I look at it is, we are
all constantly helping - or not
helping - in some way or another,
on some level or another WITHIN
OURSELVES, to contribute (either
positively or negatively) to CREATE
the world in which we live.

And you’re reading this and saying,
“SOOOOOOOOO WHAT?!?!” Right?

Well, here’s my point …

It is in helping others, in contributing
in POSITIVE, loving ways, and in GIVING
of ourselves, that we GAIN and GROW and
attract the very same ABUNDANCE to our
own lives.

Read that again.

It is in helping others …
in contributing in POSITIVE, loving ways …
and in GIVING of ourselves …
that we GAIN and GROW …
and ATTRACT the very same ABUNDANCE …
to OUR OWN lives.

The world of today is evolving more
and more, constantly, in awakening
to this. If you can’t see it, then
allow yourself to open up more to
it and you’ll likely see it with
crystal clarity.

So, let’s look at HOW you can affect
others, in probably millions of ways.
Let’s APPLY what we already KNOW
and DO something positive with that
knowledge, philosophy, and mindset.

How CAN you affect others, contribute in
more positive ways, and - on a truly
cosmic level - impact and influence the
very cycle of evolution we exist in,
(which, we know, is constantly changing)?

I’ll tell you how …

Give of yourself by giving your time.

Give of yourself by giving your attention.

Give of yourself by giving your love, your
compassion, and your kindness.

Give of yourself BY BEING GRATEFUL for
what you have … as constantly as
possible, and with all your heart.

Give of yourself by sharing great books
you’ve read with others (just give them
away, and watch what happens).

Give of yourself, from your heart, to
ONE PERSON today … even if it has to
be YOU! (And MAKE time EVERY day to be
sure you ARE loving yourself!)

BE passionate. BE of service. BE positive.
BE loving. BE YOUR TRUE SELF … and
don’t even THINK about holding back!

What you’ll receive back for giving in
that way is sure to pleasantly surprise you,
if it doesn’t flat-out blow you away! And
you truly ARE helping people, while also
helping yourself.

To quote prosperity guru, Randy Gage,
“You can’t out-give the Universe!”

Mahatma Gandhi said, “You must BE
the change you wish to see in the
world.”

BE the change. Starting today - this
very moment.

BE
THE
CHANGE.

One of the greatest “secrets” to success
of incredible proportions is to GIVE
more value than you RECEIVE … but
you have to START GIVING to set that
force in motion. And you have to take
MASSIVE, determined, unfaltering ACTION
to increase the momentum of that force.

DO IT.

If you don’t believe me … do it.

If you TOTALLY believe me, and you
already KNOW this works … do it.

Do it … with passion, with love.

Do it - NOW!

Keep the passion. Take massive action.
And let YOUR passion fuel you to your
greatest dreams and desires!

To YOUR Abundance and Prosperity!

Article - Achieving Self-Mastery by Randy Gage

Ξ May 26th, 2008 | → 0 Comments | ∇ Articles and Faves |

How do you achieve self-mastery? Mastery comes from
confidence. Confidence comes from experience. Experience
comes from practice. Practice comes from commitment. And
commitment comes from vision. Please read that last
paragraph again. Then do the arithmetic backward and you
have a roadmap to success. And notice that it all starts
with vision.

Every thing that manifests in your life is a result of the
vision you have for yourself. Everything. One of the
common mistakes people make is to say things, like, “But I
don’t really have a vision.”contraire … EVERYONE has a
vision.

Now it might be a positive vision, it could be a negative
one, or it may be a neutral one. Now you may wonder, how you
transform a neutral or negative vision into a positive one
… Glad you asked.

First, and you knew I was going to say this, programming is
important. If you’re watching three hours of sitcoms on TV
every night, it’s highly unlikely that you’re ever going to
believe in a positive vision for yourself. Likewise if
you’re reading the daily newspapers, hanging around with
victims and attending a church that beats you up every week.

So of course you need to be exposed to positive programming,
in the form of uplifting stories, positive reinforcement,
spiritual nourishment, mental and physical challenges and
the like. Next, you must make your goals real to you. And
this can be easier than you may think.

If your goal is to be the number one producer in your
company, just having a chart showing that on your Dream
Board will go a long way toward making that the case. Every
time you walk past it, your subconscious mind sees you
listed in the number one slot. After enough times, that
doesn’t seem so audacious anymore. In fact, it starts to
seem quite normal.

If you don’t own the audiotape album “Crafting Your Vision,”
get it today! It is a collection of twelve different
experts, all sharing their thoughts on vision and goal
setting. I’m one of the contributors, as is Mastermind
Council member Lisa Jimenez. This album is simply a “must
own” for anyone who is serious about manifesting great
things in their life.

I mention it now because of a very relevant technique you’ll
learn from Richard Brooke in his tape. Richard recommends
that you write a movie script of the vision you want to
manifest in your life. So going back to our earlier example,
you would write a script about you becoming the number one
producer in your company.

It might be the day of the company convention where you are
given the award. The key in writing this is to involve as
many senses as possible. So you might talk about the birds
chirping when you woke up, and the roar of the crowd as you
are introduced. You could mention the smell of the tea you
sip in the morning and the lilacs that are drifting in your
window.

You might write about the delicious taste of the lunch you
ate on the way to the convention hotel. You would describe
the huge hall where the convention is being held, and the
details on the stage. You would describe the heaviness of
the trophy you are handed, and the warmth of the handshake
from the company president as she awards you the honor.

Once you write this script, you carry it around in your
planner, purse or briefcase. Then when you have a few
minutes on the Metro, in line or on your lunch hour, you
read a little of it.

Because so many senses are involved, it resonates with you
deeper. And the deeper it does, the more of an imprint it
makes on your consciousness. Once you have a vision really
anchored with you, you just naturally want to achieve it. So
you commit to doing the things that make it happen. Along
the way to Mastery, I’ve discovered two insights that seem
to hold true in the pursuit of Mastery in all fields and at
all levels.

Once you accept and integrate them into your plan, you are
well on the road to Mastery. Here they are… Number one,
practice is the time to think, and plan, and analyze. Not in
the Championship game. You practice because you build
“muscle memory.” Think about soccer players. They didn’t
need to think, aim, or direct their kicks on goal
consciously. They see ball, kick ball.

It is an instinctive reaction, built up over hundreds or
even thousands of hours of practice. They don’t have fear or
self-doubt; they simply do what they do best. When you’re in
the big game, you don’t want to be having to think, question
or analyze. You want to be able to relax, have fun, and let
your training (practice) take over. In the case of Self-
Mastery, the situation is no different.

How you respond when the business deal doesn’t go your way,
your marriage faces a challenge, or you’re faced with an
ethical dilemma is determined well ahead of time by the
programming you’ve chosen, the wisdom you acquired, and the
self-discipline you’ve developed along the way. That’s why
some of those people walking by the café seem so confident.
They’ve done the work on themselves so they don’t fear life.
They embrace it, celebrate it, and revel in it.

Yes, they have setbacks, challenges, and even defeats. But
they have enough confidence in themselves to know that
defeat is a temporary setback, and failure is never final.
Unless you want it to be. Now here is the second insight
I’ve learned along the way. You can’t look good and get
better at the same time.

The first time you throw a baseball, ballroom dance,
pronounce a new language, hammer a nail, paint a picture,
build a bookcase, or serve a tennis ball you look silly!
Disjointed, unsure, or even ridiculous. Good. You are
starting truly at a place of learning.

The only way to be good, is to practice a lot of times while
you are bad. Like I tell new speakers, the only way to be a
good speaker is to do a lot of mediocre speeches. And after
you do enough good ones, you will do great ones. And after
you give enough great ones, you will be able to do world-
class ones.

If your vision is strong, and your commitment is real, you
don’t worry about looking silly in practice. You have enough
belief in yourself to put up with the cuts and scrapes or
the snickers and snide comments or the sweat and toil to
move another step closer to where you want to be.

Even when you hit the plateaus… Which we all must face. It
is just a reality of Mastery that you don’t move forward
continuously. In fact, sometimes it’s necessary to advance a
little, plateau, fall backward, go forward and plateau again
before you breakthrough to the next level. It’s a just a
part of the process. And once you’ve experienced this
enough, you develop confidence. Belief. And conviction. And
once you’ve got this, you are well on the road to true
Mastery.

And in any area, the process is the same. You don’t end up a
Master. You achieve a level of Mastery, at which you really
start the higher learning. Mastery is not a place, but a
process. A continuous one that includes many plateaus and
setbacks along the way. In fact, if you are not facing
setbacks and having some minor failures, you really can’t be
moving forward.

So here are some ideas for consideration.&First, evaluate
yourself. What kind of vision do you have for yourself? Be
honest. Is it positive, neutral, or negative? Do you have
different types of vision for different areas of your life?
Look for incongruence here.

For example, you may have a vision of greatness for your
bowling team, but think you will always be a low level
bureaucrat all your life. You may see yourself as a
successful CEO, but in a lifeless marriage. Or you may see
yourself as active and healthy, but struggling financially.

Evaluate if the areas of Mastery you are moving forward
include the way you make a living. Will Mastery of the
things you’re doing, lead to prosperity in your life? In ALL
areas? Give these things some thought. And change your
strategy, based upon the answers. Then you’ll be on track
and on target, to achieve Mastery in the areas that matter
most to you!
